Hello everyone, I am Sandy Niddam, the director of the brand Plouf, the swimsuits floating bath for children. Today we are at Parc Phoenix for the Savoir Nager operation, in partnership with the city of Nice and the French Swimming Federation. Hello Laurent.

Hello Sandy.

 

SN :

Could you please introduce yourself?

 

LC :

Of course, my name is Laurent Ciubini, I am the General Director of the French Swimming Federation.

 

SN : 

Can you present the Savoir Nager operation to us?

 

LC :

With pleasure, here we are on a very specific operation. It is an operation that was originally born in 2009, driven by the city of Nice and the French Swimming Federation. This operation has grown since this year, it is in more than 28 sites in France.

 

SN :

What activities are offered by the lifeguards of the French Swimming Federation?

 

LC :

So the activities of I Learn to Swim, there are very specific activities. The principle is ten lessons over two weeks or one week, depending. And so through these ten lessons, we have a real learning of swimming. That's the first thing. We have baby swimmers like this morning where we have the little ones who come and can discover water through water games, etc.

 

SN :

The uniqueness of this year is the partnership between the FFN and the brand Plouf. How was this partnership created?

 

LC :

It is first a meeting, a meeting with the brand Plouf, a French brand that has existed for years, which you now lead. So it's true that it was something very important for us. We have a French product, a product that can also help. We have devices for safety within pools with noodles, we have the belts that everyone knows. And this device? It has this particularity of allowing the child to have as little equipment as possible and to have simply a floating swimwear which allows them to evolve quite easily within the operation.

 

SN :

It's a French innovation. Have you been able to test it?

 

LC :

Personally, I am a bit tall and I roughly manage my buoyancy. [laughs] I tested it on my son, I tested it on other children. Yes, of course, it is something that has many merits, especially when you are a parent and have a pool at home, you are always very worried and it is true that it is real security. It doesn't prevent you from having to watch the child, that's for sure. But it is true that it is an additional security because there is no need for armbands, he doesn't need me, he has his swimwear and once he is familiar with it, it is true that it is real security before he is completely autonomous.

 

SN :

LC :

The idea was also to introduce because when you come to a water garden, you are there to look for solutions, to have the view of a professional, to have equipment. And I think it is very interesting for people to come and test because it is a real solution in addition to what existed before and that is what is interesting.
