The Inclusive Sports Recess opens to schools!

A program to move and grow together 💙

Fighting against sedentariness, promoting motor development from an early age, and ensuring equal access to physical activity are now major public health and education challenges.
That is why the Inclusive Sports Recess was created and stands out as an innovative educational program, designed so that all children, regardless of their profiles, can move, play, and learn together.

In 2026, this program goes further. Indeed, it aims to open up to schools and thus offer teachers, communities, and educational stakeholders a new way to integrate inclusive sports into schools from kindergarten to elementary.

What is the Inclusive Sports Recess?

The Inclusive Sports Recess is a fun and educational program that uses movement and play as levers for learning, fulfillment, and social cohesion.

It is aimed at children aged 2 to 11: whether they are neurotypical, have disabilities, are in social precarity, or simply distanced from traditional sports practice.

The objective is simple yet essential: to allow all children to engage in inclusive physical activity, without exclusion, without imposed performance, and in a safe environment.

Why has an inclusive sports program become indispensable?

🫩 A Concerning Reality: Children's Physical Inactivity

Today, many children do not move enough, develop motor delays and/or face obstacles to sports practice. These inequalities create developmental gaps from a very young age, both physically and socially and emotionally.

💪🏼 Sport as a Lever for Inclusion

For all children when it is adapted, sport is a wonderful tool to promote motor skills in children, develop coordination and body expression, strengthen social bonds, encourage living together and cooperation, and fight against isolation and stigmatization.

This is exactly the vision carried by the Inclusive Sports Recess.

A Program Supported by Reference Actors

The strength of the Inclusive Sports Recess lies in the commitment and expertise of three major players in inclusion through sport and pedagogy:

🤝🏼 Siel Bleu

A pioneering association in adapted physical activity, Siel Bleu has been working for over 25 years to make movement more accessible to everyone and at any age. Its expertise ensures secure, progressive, and adapted content to the abilities of each child.

🌎 PLAY International

PLAY International uses sport as an educational and social tool in France and internationally. The association designs programs promoting equality, cooperation, and social cohesion through play and movement.

♿️ Signe de sens

Specialist in pedagogical accessibility, Signes de sens ensures that the content, materials, and approaches are understandable and inclusive for all children, especially those with disabilities.

Together, these three organizations give birth to an inclusive sports program with a strong social impact designed for the field and the realities of the educational environment.

Where is the Inclusive Sports Recess developed today?

The program currently operates in several areas:

-  Nord (59)
- Seine-Saint-Denis (93)
- Yvelines (78)
- Bouches-du-Rhône (13)
- Alpes Maritimes (06)
- Aisnes (02)
- Vaucluse (84)
- Martinique (972)

These experiments allow for adapting the content to local contexts and preparing for a progressive opening to schools starting this year, in 2026.

The Inclusive Sports Recess at school: a major educational opportunity

Integrating educational sports into school time

Opening the program to schools will offer an inclusive physical activity to preschool and elementary children, enrich educational projects around the body and movement, support teachers in implementing an inclusive sport at school and promote equal access to sport from an early age.

Developing motor skills and living together

Beyond physical activity, the Inclusive Sports Recess contributes to the global development of the child: motor skills, self-confidence, non-verbal communication, respect for others, cooperation, and mutual aid.
These are essential skills to grow, learn and thrive in a school environment.

Movement, prevention, and learning from an early age: issues that resonate with the commitment of Plouf

At Plouf, the question of movement from early childhood is central.
Moving early, learning to know one's body, developing support and coordination are fundamental pillars of child development.

The Inclusive Sports Recess naturally resonates with several of our key issues:

⚠️ Prevention of sedentary lifestyle
💡 Motor learning from an early age
🤝🏼 Access to movement for all
💙 More broadly, risk prevention, particularly in aquatic environments

Without any commercial discourse, this program reminds us of a strong conviction: a child who moves, experiments, and gains confidence in their body is better equipped to understand their environment.

Towards a more inclusive school through movement

The Inclusive Sports Recess embodies a modern and committed vision of education: a school where movement becomes learning, where sport is accessible to all children and where diversity is a strength.

By opening to schools in 2026, this program lays the foundation for a more inclusive, more humane, and more equitable education from the earliest years of life.

An essential step to building together a society where every child has their place.
