On October 4, 2023, the Plouf team was invited to 14^th Edition of the PME RMC Trophies Special PACA Region at the Marseille Chamber of Commerce. Named in the “Digital Transformation” category, our small business did its best to shine among the nuggets in the running. It was an opportunity for Sandy Niddam, our brand director, to present Plouf to the juries.

Our candidacy was very well received and the members of the jury as well as Michel Picot were kind enough to inform us of their encouragement and their enthusiasm.

Innovation at the service of aquatic security

For more than 20 years already, Plouf has been distinguished on the market for leisure accessories thanks to our unique technology, Fiberair. Composed of 97% air, it offers incomparable lightness and buoyancy without requiring inflation. It is therefore an innovation particularly suited to the safety of leisure activities.

Our flagship product, the floating swimsuit, allows children to swim and float in complete safety, offering peace of mind to parents and an incomparable swimming experience for small fish in the making. He warns drowning, helps to learn to swim and fights fear of water in children from 30 months to 6 years old.

This child floating swimsuit, present on the market since 2001, has already reassured at least 600,000 parents worldwide. It is recognized by swimming professionals, including the French Swimming Federation and the French Swimming Academy for its ability to teach children while having fun in the private framework.

The impact of the fiberir is not limited to the floating swimsuit. Entrepreneurial adventure: from vision to realization

The story of Plouf is a real entrepreneurial adventure based on innovation which has been truly created by accident! Indeed, the fiberir comes from a production accident in an Italian factory. A synthetic fiber provided for insulation had to be injected with air. One of the lots is found with too much air, it is unusable as it is but it floats!

This is how Alain Belkadi, a textile specialist, hears about it. He had the idea of ​​a jersey to secure the children who came to him after attending a family accident that could have turned very badly. We left for years of research and development to transform this fiber into a real security device. We are in 2001, the floating swimsuit was born.

The renewal arrives with Sandy Niddam which relaunches the brand on digital in 2019. The ambition is to make itself known as e-commerce. The challenge is immense because it coincides with the arrival of COVID and confinement ... Since then our united team has been working hard to transform our concept into a flourishing e-commerce company. Plouf's journey is punctuated by challenges, but also significant successes that have consolidated our position on the market.

Other innovations to come

Fiberair is a technological innovation that has not finished being essential because it has many possible applications. At Plouf, we prepare the upcoming arrival of the adult floating swimsuit. It is the women's model that should first arrive before the end of the year, followed by the men's model. These new features, already in great demand, will be able to relieve swimmers in their efforts and allow everyone to enjoy the benefits of water and physical exercise, whatever their capacities.

There is also a floating quarter combination model for navigation professionals. And other innovations would be on the way for the years to come, but hush ... it's still a secret. The Plouf brand is experiencing a very marked seasonality, in summer being a very busy period, which is why winter has passed to create other innovations, to reinvent itself and to improve constantly.
